I'm Not a Photographer

I'm a teacher.

But I really, really, really like pretending to be a photographer!

And when I got to spend the weekend learning from a real photographer (former teacher), I was beyond excited!

An updated Top Ten list of things I've learned lately.

Ten: There is a difference in black and white styles. And I now have an amazing action named "Amy's BW" in my action folder.

Nine: Speaking of actions. I went ahead and recorded some of my favorite edits. It's amazing how much faster the editing process is.

Eight: Boys aren't as patient with photos if you are married to them. Work fast.

Seven: Kids prefer parks to photos. Work faster.

Six: Don't forget what you've already learned (see #7).

Five: Toes are pretty. They should be photographed. ;)

Four: Blankets in the park make for adorable pictures. Frame them and hang them in your bedroom. Don't post them on facebook for his buddies to see.

Three: If said blanket in the park photo is posted on facebook, be prepared to do some major negotiating for your next round of pictures.

Two: I have a lot. No. A ton. To learn in photoshop and about photography. I need another cousin date soon!

And the number One thing I learned about photography this weekend:

It's not a good photographic location unless there is the fear of tetanus!
